The food was nice, but there was no salad, just like at the other restaurants we'd visited. We were staying near this hotel and came to review only its restaurant. We'd tried almost all the restaurants in Duhnen since the first day of our vacation, and this was our last night. The staff here were among the unfriendliest we've ever encountered. When we arrived, we were greeted by someone cold and unfriendly, without even a smile. We were rushed to pay because she said she'd been working since morning and had to work again the next day. We hadn't finished eating when the man took our bowl of fries without asking. He watched us and seemed so annoyed that we weren't finished yet. I've never had an experience like that. I work in food service now and have worked in a hotel too, but we never treated people that way. If you're in Duhnen, I'd go to another restaurant. Never again on our next visit!

The reply I eventually received said that private matters had to take priority and that constant calls and emails were disruptive, so they didn't want me there. That came after a week of trying to book: the owner had gone to the vet, I was asked to call the next day, the landline went unanswered, and then the mobile number did too. I was told to try that same number again. When I followed up by email, I was apparently treated as a guest/customer threatening to cancel the order. With that kind of response, I don't think someone should be running a hotel. There were lots of medications at reception and dust all over the keyboard. We wanted to stay as guests, but were treated badly. Avoid this place; camping would be better!

I only ate at the restaurant, and everything was lovely. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was fantastic. I especially go for the fish, which is delicious.

The mattresses were so comfortable, and the restaurant dinner was very good. Breakfast was excellent too. We were welcomed warmly, and the place was spotless. The rooms are a little dated, but completely fine. Everyone on staff was kind and friendly. We felt right at home and will definitely return.
