Hotel Conti Duisburg

The beds felt a little hard to me, but the rooms are spacious, clean, modern, and well equipped. It's a handy location, and being able to reserve a parking spot is useful. I'd recommend it for any kind of trip.

The rooms are clean and new, and there's a coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was good. The carpet in the elevator and corridors smelled, though, and there was no air conditioning in the rooms.

The rooms have been renovated, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are kind. Internet was a bit slow but worked well enough for what I needed. A few things could be better: the elevator is painfully slow, especially on the upper floors, and the doors take their time opening and closing. Breakfast was good, but €21 is far too much for it. It also wasn't clear where to find the hotel parking, so a sign would help.

We came with the Scottish Hockey Team, 21 of us altogether. Most stayed here, while a couple of people were across the road. We saw a double room there, which was small and had no air conditioning, though still decent. Our room, 508, was lovely, spacious, and clean, with plenty of shelves and wardrobe space, a safe, a fridge, and a view of the gardens. The bathroom had good storage for toiletries and makeup, a decent hairdryer and magnifying mirror, and a good shower. It was cleaned to a very high standard every day. Breakfast was a buffet with loads of options: juice, fruit, cereal, cold meats, cheese, bread, rolls and croissants, fried and scrambled eggs, sausages, and bacon. There was a coffee machine and a range of teas. The breakfast staff worked really hard on all three mornings, especially when our team and the other teams arrived together. We ate outside in the garden, which was really nice. The hotel was very busy during the tournament, with other teams there too. On Thursday evening, the two reception ladies checked us in efficiently and were welcoming. They were also great at serving drinks after everyone got back from dinner. The reception team helped us arrange taxis to our games. A couple of evenings we had drinks in the bar, where the staff were friendly and chatty. There are lovely comfy chairs and seating areas to relax in, and nice pictures on the walls. We added three extra days to explore the area, museums, shops, and so on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back next year. :)
