Hotel Gasthof Huber

I stayed here alone during 2024 Football World Cup. The balcony faced the countryside, and it was quiet and peaceful at night. You could see the stars and smell the forest. The rooms were modern and cozy, and breakfast and dinner were just the classic Bavarian food I’d been missing. I drove to Munich instead of taking public transport, and it wasn’t far from the city. Staff were very friendly. I’d stay here again, rather than pay Munich prices, and take day trips around.

The restaurant food is very good, and the menu is small but has something for everyone. When someone in our group asked for a vegan meal, the kitchen prepared a custom dish. The price was okay, and the food was worth it. The restaurant has a typical Bavarian atmosphere. Breakfast is standard for this kind of hotel, with fresh coffee and the usual morning drinks brought to the table. The hotel rooms are spacious and share balconies, but each has its own bathroom. The beds fit two and can be separated if needed. There’s a TV with local channels and a Wi-Fi hotspot, but reception in our room was poor. That was unfortunate since mobile reception wasn’t strong either. The rooms were clean, and the service was friendly and professional. The biggest drawback is getting there by public transport. It’s in a small village and hard to reach without a car, even though there’s a Munich S-Bahn station in a village not too far away. If you’re okay with that or have a car, it shouldn’t be a problem.

We stopped here to sleep on the way from Italy to Denmark. It was a little off our route, but the hotel was clean, nice, and completely up to date inside. The rooms had been renovated, and the restaurant was fantastic. Breakfast was a little boring compared with other hotels, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t much to talk about. The staff did a great job, and the price was good.
