Apartments Hugos Haus

We’d definitely stay again. The room was huge and modern, with a kitchenette and a roomy bathroom with a walk-in shower. It’s in the old town, near lots of restaurants and not far from the charming harbor. From the courtyard, a narrow alley leads to reception and the breakfast café. There’s underground parking about 100m away. Highly recommended.

The staff and adjoining café were great, and the area around the hotel is gorgeous, with plenty of shops and restaurants. It sits right on Eckernförde’s oldest and prettiest shopping street, so the location was lovely. The room, though, was worn and in poor shape. The furniture was falling apart, and it still wasn’t clean after housekeeping. Walking over the floor in socks left thick dust clumps in my bed. Really disappointing. At €120 a night, I can’t accept those conditions. Some nearby hotels cost a bit more but are cleaner and better cared for, so I’ll choose one of those next time. Such a shame, because the location, staff, and café were so nice.

Hugo's House is right in the centre, and I could walk to the beach, Rewe supermarket, a bakery, Rossmann drugstore, DM drugstore, restaurants, and pretty much anything else in just a few minutes. I could leave the car parked for the whole stay. Eckernförde itself is a beautiful, well-kept Baltic resort town, lovely for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the rooms were tidy, clean, spacious, and well equipped. I highly recommend staying here.

The rooms are lovely, and the central location makes this a place I’d happily recommend.
