Gasthaus Nangfa Engel

Whenever we're passing through, we try to stop at this place. The Pad Thai with chicken is a must for us, it's the best we've had. Honestly, this is the best Thai restaurant we've ever tried.

The Thai food was the highlight for both my partner and me. We thought it was the best we'd ever had, and the Pad Thai was incredibly tasty. The room was fresh, clean, and well kept; we chose one with a private bathroom. We stayed just one night, and the friendly staff made the visit easy. Check-in went smoothly, and at checkout we could drop the key in a mailbox and get back on the road quickly. A great stop for an overnight stay while traveling.

There’s no breakfast, but we enjoyed eating at the restaurant, which serves Thai dishes as well as traditional German food. We stayed as three people, using one double room and one single room, and both were clean and pleasant. The staff were lovely and the service was very good. They understand both German and English.

The location worked well for our route, but parking was very limited and cramped, with far fewer spaces than rooms. Staff were helpful, though they forgot to give us towels and spoke very little English, despite the guesthouse being on the main route between northern Europe and Croatia. The rooms were adequately equipped and the bathroom layout was odd. They were dirty, though: the bedsheets had been changed, but the room hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, with dust and spider webs everywhere. At €75, it felt expensive for what was an overall two-star experience.
