The town itself is pretty dull, with not much to do, though I was there for work and didn’t really need anything to do. For a work visit or a one-night stop on a road trip, the hotel works well. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and happy to help. The rooms are simple, but clean and decent. With the flat roof, they get really hot, and it’s hard to cool them down, so air conditioning would be a good upgrade. Breakfast was okay, with a limited selection, which matched the simple rooms.

We had a great falafel plate at the restaurant the night before, with the best hummus we’ve ever had, and the service was super friendly. Breakfast was disappointing, though. It could really use some vegan choices, like yogurt, soy milk, or even peanut butter. The rooms are modern, spotless, and have nice showers and plenty of outlets. But there’s no air conditioning, and mosquitoes are a real problem. With no window screens, opening the windows to cool the room isn’t really an option.

A handy spot for a research visit at KIT, just five minutes by car and probably walkable in half an hour. There’s parking, and the in-house restaurant is a nice bonus with very good food. My room was pleasant, bright, and had a small desk.

The refurbished rooms were lovely, especially the showers. The manager spoke excellent English, and the restaurant attached to the hotel was good for supper. Good value for money.

Everything felt fresh and very clean. The staff were accommodating and focused on customers, and the restaurant was very good. The tram is right across the street.
