The stairs are a serious thing to consider before booking. There’s no lift, and the steps are everywhere, including a narrow staircase up to the room. Hallways and rooms can be tight too, so a wheelchair won’t work here, and crutches or a walker could be difficult. Please keep that in mind when choosing your bag or suitcase as well. What won me over was the breakfast room. All the decorations, pink tablecloths and folded napkins made it feel like a treat, and I loved having coffee in a fancy little cup. The coffee was mild and comforting, so I didn’t feel it needed milk or sugar. At check-in they asked each of us whether we wanted tea or coffee, then served it in a cute little pot. The buffet also had milk, juice, water, cereals, plenty of things for bread, several kinds of sliced bread and rolls. I’m usually a white bread person, but those warm little square brown breads were so good. There was plenty to choose from, even for picky eaters. The hotel is close to the Moezel, though it isn’t right on the river. Its old buildings and small streets made the settlement a nice place for evening walks. There’s parking both in front of the hotel and nearer the river. The staff seemed very friendly to me, though I don’t speak German, so I may not be the best judge. Dinner was more mixed for me. I’m a very picky eater, and the limited menu didn’t offer much that suited me. I chose pasta and left out the part I didn’t like; that isn’t how the dish was meant to be eaten, and I got tired of the flavor pretty quickly, though the pasta itself was good. My mom and another woman nearby both liked the fish, and it came on a fish-shaped plate, which was a fun touch. The food may be really good, but picky eaters, especially kids, might be happier eating somewhere else.
