Hotel Weinhaus Fuhrmann by Moselstern-Hotels

We weren’t hotel guests, just staying at a nearby AirBnB, and wanted breakfast somewhere. This was the only place in walking distance, and they kindly let us join the buffet anyway. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. It’s a large hotel aimed at groups and older people, so the atmosphere isn’t especially cosy. Still, it was nice for us as two young adults, and the view of the Mossel river was right there. There was a wide choice of food. Since it’s a buffet, not everything is freshly made, but it was clean and the chef added fresh portions when things needed topping up. I especially liked that they had soft boiled eggs, which you don’t often see at a breakfast buffet.

I’d have liked somewhere secure to lock up our bicycles. Apart from that, it was a very good stay: the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and in good shape, and the meals were very good. The room Wi-Fi was marginal, but adequate. I recommend Hotel Fuhrmann.

The room was much too hot, and the pillows were too small. Air conditioning would definitely help. The breakfast was really good, though, and the staff were very friendly. We’d certainly stay here again.

We found this open during our mid-April visit, when most nearby places seemed to be closed until the summer crowds arrive. Good on them for staying open. The restaurant was nicely presented, the staff were understanding and spoke several languages, and the food was great. Recommended.
