It’s worth knowing that the floors creak. Parking nearby can also be difficult. Otherwise, it’s a well-kept guesthouse with a very extensive breakfast. The lovely courtyard gives the place a southern feel, and it seems to have been made from the grounds of an old brewery, restaurant, or pub.

The breakfast is plentiful, and it’s a nice place to spend some time. It has the feel of an old country inn with a modern touch. The rooms are furnished in a standard way. Since it’s a timber-framed building, the floorboards creak and groan a lot, and you can hear them throughout the rooms.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and everything was tidy and clean. The rooms themselves are basic and a little old-fashioned, and the hotel feels dated, more like a country house. The wooden ceilings don’t block sound, so you hear the beams creaking quite a bit. There’s a self-service drinks machine in the courtyard. Breakfast was a letdown. Each person got one pre-baked roll, which felt skimpy. After we complained, they brought two more, but those were still frozen in the middle.

The owner was so accommodating, and the service was friendly. We got a warm welcome, and the breakfast was both tasty and generous. Great value for money.
