The room was clean and decent, but it got too hot without any AC. The hotel was okay overall, though it had a dated 90s feel. Breakfast was disappointing: they had herring and sponge cake, but anyone looking for healthier or more modern choices should eat elsewhere. The photos gave the wrong impression, and I don't think it deserves four stars.

My main issue was the heat. At 9 p.m. it was 30 degrees, and with neither AC nor even a fan available, I kept waking up sweating. I was basically only there to sleep, but could barely get any rest. For more than €125 a night, I think a fan is the minimum. If you can't sleep in the room, what's the point? That's why I can only give one star. The room was fairly ordinary and generally clean, though some spots looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The two reception staff were nice. One didn't speak English, but we managed with my broken German and Google Translate. Breakfast was fine.

The staff were super friendly, and the location and breakfast were good. The bathroom felt more like a hospital than a cozy, homely place. I also took off a point because the double bed was two single beds pushed together, leaving a big gap down the middle.

Check-in was quick, and the room was exceptional. We were within walking distance of the Erfurt Train Station, and this is an excellent hotel. The breakfast was something else, especially since it was included in the price of our three-day stay.

Herr Le was our favorite, and the staff overall were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay in Erfurt at the Best Westin Excelsior. The service and accommodation were very good, and the buffet breakfast was tasty with enough variety for most tastes.
