ibis Erfurt Altstadt

The city center location and the old building are lovely, but the room was tiny for what it cost, and the bathroom was even smaller. The interior looks cheap and very dated, and it badly needs renovation. Check-in was unfriendly, too. I didn't enjoy my stay and would definitely pick another hotel next time.

The location is great, and breakfast was better than average, quite good actually. The rooms could use some care: they felt a little run down and weren't especially clean. The staff, though, were all very nice.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I'd book here again, hopefully after the bathroom has been updated. In room 122, the bed and television were good, and the room itself was comfortable, clean, and simply furnished. There was only one chair, and no hook for a coat. The curtains were awkward to open and close. The bathroom felt old: the shower door and silicone seal need attention, the bin had no lid or liner, and there was only half a roll of toilet paper when I arrived. It's on a quiet street right in the middle of the lovely center, with underground parking. Take care driving in and out.

For an Ibis, this was very good, with a good price for such a central spot. The staff were friendly, and the air conditioning in the rooms is a real help in summer ;) Best of all, you're right in Erfurt's old town, among the churches and half-timbered houses.
