Glück Auf Appartements Rüttenscheiderstraße

These comfortable apartments are fully furnished and very well equipped, whether you're staying for a short time or longer. Everything was perfect. I'd recommend them to everyone.

Great location, and the rooms are really nice.

The place felt cold and unwelcoming, with thin walls and only two dining chairs for four people. The heating was broken and there was no hot water. Then the owner canceled everything, leaving us stressed that evening and scrambling to find another place in Essen. We had to book spontaneously at an inflated price, and the extra cost and stress were ours to deal with. We also got an incorrect invoice, and still haven't received a corrected cancellation invoice, an apology, or any response from the provider. I can't understand this behavior. The trouble started when we arrived and found the booked extra bed missing. Customer service was unreachable over the weekend, so we were left on our own. It took almost an hour and a half on the phone with Booking.com support to sort anything out. We've made up our minds: never again Glück Auf Apartments!

You can hear every conversation and footstep through the extremely noisy rooms, and sleep was impossible for me in this apartment. The bathroom has no heating or ventilation, and it smelled musty, probably from mold that had been painted over. The pictures give a very misleading impression.
