Golden Apartments

The flat didn't resemble the listing photos, either. The piano, wallpaper, and furnishings shown there were missing, which left us feeling misled. The old, battered furniture and the general run-down state added to that impression, and the high price made the experience even more disappointing. Hot water was a serious problem. We had to fill the bath with a kettle. When I told Ibs, she brushed it off, saying nobody else had complained, instead of arranging a plumber or technician. She offered another room, but we were busy visiting family and working, so moving, perhaps more than once, wasn't practical or what we'd planned for. The apartment was also in awful shape. Wallpaper was peeling, floors were covered in dust and grime, and after I dropped my lip gloss I found a lot of rubbish and dirt under the bed. There were empty holes where plug sockets were missing, unreplaced ceiling spotlights, and several lamps without bulbs, so the place was dim. The sheets had hairs and the bed was dirty, while the windows and ledges were filthy. It didn't feel properly cleaned or maintained. The property was nowhere near the advertised standard, and the host seemed more focused on charging a high rate than providing quality accommodation. We left frustrated, uncomfortable, and completely dissatisfied. I wouldn't recommend it.

The apartments were spacious and really clean. Service was very friendly too. Awesome place.

A+++. The Golden Apartment in Essen was clean and big, and I had a very good stay. 👌🏻

I can't recommend this place. We were in upstairs apartment number 10, where the furniture was very worn, the mirror was smeared, the dishes were filthy, and the bedsheets had stains. The balcony ashtray was overflowing, the TV had no channels, and there was no parking. The worst part was that we left a scarf behind. We told the landlord right away, and he said he'd take care of it, but then there was no further reply and the scarf was gone. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the house.
