There was a damp, musty smell all the way from the main entrance to the room, and the refrigerators smelled bad too. The kitchen sink had been blocked for a week, yes, the sink itself. There were piles of little dishes and dirty pots, the camp stove barely worked, and a few forks and a knife had gone missing. The kettle was partly melted, with half its lid gone. Even the washing machine hookup looked like a masterpiece of structural engineering.
