The host was very friendly, the rooms were good, and the food was okay. We were driving from Frankfurt and expected to arrive by 9 pm, but car trouble delayed us by three hours. By then, the doors were shut and no one was there to respond. Although we had paid in full, we had to find somewhere else to stay and pay a hefty rate. I would have given five stars if the host had called us or arranged somewhere for us to stay in that unfortunate situation.

The gnocchi was so soft, and though it wasn’t made in house, it tasted fresh. The Italian food was the most delicious I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly and honest, and even made little jokes that added to the experience. I definitely recommend this place!

The room was spacious, and the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom, though, looked a bit small and old, and didn’t make me want to shower. There was no kettle for tea or coffee, something that’s standard in most places. Breakfast was adequate, but the cereals were cheap and the bread spreads basic. A few warm, healthy choices would have been nice. The location is convenient, five minutes from the station. The woman at reception was friendly, but the gentleman, presumably an owner, wasn’t. When we complained about something, he sat there straight faced, unapologetic, and unfriendly. With the price so high, the owners should make the stay a wonderful experience for guests.

The house is old but well kept, and our small room was pretty. We had a nice one-night stay in a great location, though the main street can be a little noisy during the day. It was hard to find a parking spot, but that’s to be expected in a tourist place like this.
