Glaeßer Appartements

The Glaeßer family were so helpful, with great tips for activities, and they made us a wonderful breakfast. My family and I spent a week in the apartments, which were very quiet and comfortable. They’re also really close to the city center, which was convenient. Fantastic place!

There was only one bedside table, no refrigerator, and no vacuum cleaner for cleaning up the beach sand. We knew in advance there was no kitchen in the room and that breakfast wasn’t included. Breakfast at the "Seagull's Nest" was substantial and cost €10, so that part was fine. The room itself disappointed us: about 12 square meters, with a 1.60 m wide bed that was 2 m long, an old-fashioned seating area, and an old brown carpet. The bathroom was small, a spider had settled in the shower cubicle, and hot water only came through after running the shower for five minutes. The mattress was just 10 cm of thin cold foam, not an "orthopedic mattress."

Mrs. Glaeßer was friendly and understanding, though Mr. Glaeßer came across as rather unfriendly, set in his opinions, and strict about the rules. The beds were okay and we slept well, and although the bathroom was tiny and old, everything in it worked. The apartment had very old-fashioned furnishings and no full-length mirror. There was no oven in the kitchen, and we couldn’t find a sharp knife or scissors. Without a vacuum cleaner, the place was sandy and dirty after just a few days. I can’t recommend it for a longer family vacation.

The apartments are exceptionally clean and comfortable, and everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The location is peaceful and beautiful. I haven’t found anything comparable among the island’s private rentals, and I’d definitely stay here again.
