We've stayed here several times and would gladly return. The apartment is very clean, has everything we need, and we feel right at home. There's a balcony overlooking the lovely garden, which guests can also use. The Sippel family are very kind landlords.

The apartments are clean, in great condition, and have everything you need. The landlords are really nice 👍. Apartment Sturmmöwe is right beside the very busy road 🚗 to the south beach. There are places to park bicycles and a shed that can be locked. A freezer would've been the icing on the cake. We'll definitely come back 😜.

We won't be back, even though the price seemed okay for what you get. We stayed in September at Haus Möweninsel, in the front-facing “Sturmmöwe” apartment. All the apartments are on the first floor of a detached house. We were welcomed warmly and shown around. It's a two-room place with a kitchen and bathroom, and about 95% of the furniture was intact. The TV wobbled, the highchair had a small hole in its backrest and, more importantly, no leg strap, so we had to improvise. The sofa bed cushions were patched with what looked like the cover or something similar. The location is nice apart from the main road, which runs right in front and is noisy even at night. With the window open, sleeping is impossible. It was around 17 degrees Celsius outside during our stay, unfortunately, but the apartment was still very warm. It's about a 15-minute walk to the south beach, which is beautifully landscaped, and the dog beach is another five minutes away. Inside, the apartment is very noisy too. We couldn't flush the toilet or shower while our daughter slept in the next room because she woke up every time. We could also hear the toilet in the neighboring apartment. If you need a travel cot, I'd bring your own. The one provided squeaked loudly with every movement, and our daughter kept complaining, so we got no peaceful nights. The style is a bit dated, though the bathroom looks modern. The kitchen has a four-burner stove and an oven that only heats, with no convection or top and bottom heat settings. Our casserole still turned out fine after a longer wait. There was a mix-up about dogs, and we were led to believe they were allowed. Apparently the apartments are meant for allergy sufferers and are completely pet-free. On the first morning, the landlord shouted rudely at us down the stairwell, then disappeared into his apartment after venting his anger. When we showed him the emails where we'd received a positive answer about bringing dogs, he suddenly said he knew nothing about it. Some emails seem to have vanished into the internet's abyss. We then had to pay an extra €21 for the week. There are some useful things in the apartment beyond the usual household items, including a hairdryer, lighter, candles, blankets, salt, and fruit tea. Parking in the driveway is ample, and there's a bicycle rack in the garden.

We were in the Austernfischer holiday apartment, which is clean and functional. The furnishing is modern apart from the kitchen. Neue Tief is fairly central between the castle and the south beach, though neither is easy to reach on foot. There's a bus stop close by, and the owner rents bicycles for €3 a day. After hot days, a musty smell develops in the Austernfischer bedroom. The apartment is also right next to the central hot water system, so there's a humming and whirring whenever anyone in the building showers or uses water. At €85 per night, it doesn't feel like very good value.
