Insel Koje #2

We’re not coming back. The kitchen has everything you need, but there were dirty dishes on the shelves, and the terrace was so overgrown we didn’t want to use it. The bathroom had a strong smell and the sink wouldn’t drain. Cleaning was poor: dust had only been wiped from exposed areas, the TV stand was cleaned just on the front, and Lego bricks were still lying around on the living room floor. You could barely see through the windows. The decorations and many artificial plants might have looked nice if they were cleaned, and the ceiling lights were covered in cobwebs.

A quiet, pleasant spot in the village, with a little sunny terrace. The furnishings are basic, but enough for a few days.

What a shame. It’s a beautiful, charming old house, but it has been neglected. The terrace sunshade, washing machine, and bedroom light were broken. Reviews say the washing machine has been a problem since at least November 2019. Other things were badly maintained too: tiles with holes, a wobbly homemade vanity, wallpaper pieces pasted over, dirty bathroom corners, and a garage that looks close to collapsing. There are enough garbage bins, but not enough recycling bins in the house for separating waste. Emails were answered late or not at all, and to this day we don’t know how the tourist tax is handled. Cleaning supplies and dishwasher detergent were missing. During COVID, disinfectant should have been provided, or there should at least have been a note saying everything was disinfected. Instead, I had to wipe down all the sticky fixtures and railings myself. The price isn’t justified, especially given the roadside location and the distance from the Baltic Sea, which we knew about beforehand. We won’t return or recommend it. What a shame.

We left right away because the house was in terrible shape. Such a shame for a beautiful old property.
