Strandburg

The building is well kept, and the bakery on the ground floor is good. Mornings can mean a long queue for rolls, though, so buying bread ahead of time is a better bet. The apartment house is in a great spot right on the beach. We didn’t bring a car this time, which left us relying on the south beach shops and restaurants, where there isn’t much choice. There’s a bus to Burg roughly once an hour, but it doesn’t run back in the evening.

We’ve booked the same apartment, Strandburg-Küken, several times and always feel at home there. It’s clean, nicely decorated, and has a kitchen stocked with what you need, so nothing felt lacking. Booking through Travel Center Fehmarn has always gone smoothly, and they answer questions in a polite, helpful way. Thanks for another lovely holiday!

There’s a bakery, ice cream shop, and small beach store right in the building, which is handy. The apartments have balconies, are well equipped, and the stairwell has an elevator. The standout for us was the gorgeous panoramic view over the Baltic Sea. A fantastic place to stay, highly recommended.

We found the apartments facing the promenade especially good. They get the most hours of sunshine 👍🏽
