Kuckucksnester Feldberg

We stayed upstairs in this nicely renovated apartment in an older house near Feldberg. There's a short gravel path to reach the house, and the upper apartment entrance is at the back, on a slope. From the living and dining room, you get a nice view toward the valley. The apartment has what you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is on the small, cramped side, but it's well equipped and even has a dishwasher. There's a space heater in the bathroom if you'd like to warm it up.

The apartment is lovely and has everything you need. We had the ground-floor unit and, with three adults and three children, there would have been enough space if all the rooms were usable. But the children's room was basically storage, with mold in the corners and under the bed, so we couldn't use it. That left us cramped, especially in the beds, and my husband ended up sleeping on the living room sofa. I emailed Mr. Sigwart about it and got no response from him or anyone else. That's unacceptable, especially since the unusable room was meant for children and the mold raises health concerns. I'm giving one star despite the apartment's overall beauty. When we first booked, contact with Mr. Sigwart was straightforward and everything seemed to go smoothly. We had arranged to move in early, but when we arrived with our three children, aged one to five, the apartment wasn't ready. The friendly gentleman said he hadn't been told about the early arrival. It was annoying, but not a major issue. People make mistakes.

What a peaceful place. The building is in a wonderful location, and it feels relaxing for everyone staying there.
