Hotel am Hirschgarten

Good value, with clean, simple rooms and really friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I booked after reading the hotel's reviews, but was completely disappointed by the staff. I arrived late at night, and the corridor lights either didn’t work or only stayed on briefly. I fell on the stairs in the dark. My suitcase ended up at the bottom of the stairs and I was on the fourth step. I asked them to follow safety rules after my accident the previous night. They said that if it had been serious, I’d have been in hospital, and told me not to exaggerate. They said I could stay if I wanted, or leave. There’s no yellow caution tape by the reception stairs, and even in daylight it’s hard to see the change in level on the black floor.

We arrived a bit after 10 p.m., but someone still came to open the door so we could get to our rooms and sleep. Great service. Breakfast was nice and worth the price, and the staff were more than helpful. The rooms could use a little fridge or freezer, but I’d recommend the place for a quick stay.

The rooms were clean, but pretty poor. The restaurant, on the other hand, was nice, the food excellent, and the staff kind.
