You can walk easily to Südermarkt, the pedestrian zone, and Rote Straße, with its shops, restaurants and buses. The apartment is extremely central. Getting to the parking garage takes a route around the outside because Rote Straße is one-way, but that's easy enough to plan for. The biggest issue was the lack of windows in the main room, which combines the living room, bedroom and kitchen. We stayed two nights and could only imagine coming back in a SUPER EMERGENCY. You can't leave the front door open long to air the place, since it opens straight onto the courtyard and then the street. We didn't use the kitchen, and I can't imagine cooking there without a window. We still wanted fresh air in the mornings. The linen and towel package was included, so we expected a normal supply. There were only two bath towels, no hand towel or bath mat. Getting out of the shower with wet feet onto the tiles could be dangerous. There wasn't a dish towel either, and you don't usually run the dishwasher just because you used one glass. Sunday checkout at exactly 10:00 AM was much too early for us. Someone knocked without even saying hello or good morning, which made for an unpleasant first and last interaction. A shame, because the place could have been nice, but it had several downsides.
