Hotel Flensburg Akademie

The apartment itself was comfortable, with decent equipment and a good bed. But the place felt more like a hostel attached to a volleyball club academy than a hotel. Young men nearby were loud, playing music and talking, and the kindergarten across the street added more noise. The surrounding area seemed dirty and unsafe to me, so even if the location looks convenient, I wouldn't walk to the center and would drive instead. For this price, I'd choose somewhere else. Flensburg seems better for a day trip than an overnight stay. You can see the atmosphere in my photos.

We had a lovely stay at Flensburg Akademie. The staff were especially polite and friendly, and our room was spacious and really nice. Wi-Fi was free, too.

We had a pleasant stay, though the price felt high given the condition of things. The room was roomy, well equipped, and had a lovely balcony, and getting the keys from the safe was easy. The safe itself, though, wasn't locked. There were stains on the carpet, the floor felt a little sticky, and we noticed mold in the shower. We asked about the cleaning, and staff replied quickly, but nothing was done. Maybe it was the cleaning product, or perhaps the floor just needed another mop.

I didn't feel safe here, especially at night. There was nobody at reception in the evenings while people were shouting outside, and I barely slept. In the morning I found a large spider crawling over my bed. The room was dusty and had marks left by previous guests. The neighborhood was noisy and unappealing. Though it's near the center and attractions, you have to cross an area that didn't feel very safe. The listing on Booking.com gives the impression of a hotel, but this felt more like a student dorm. The price was steep for these conditions. Never again. I don't know what places the people who rated it five stars had stayed in before.
