Hotel Nordig

After a long drive, we stopped here late at night. The bed was very comfortable, but the rest of the stay was less reassuring. The place didn't feel fully clean, and there was a moldy smell, especially on the stairs leading to the breakfast restaurant. Breakfast was also very basic and poor. Parking was a problem too. We arrived at 22:00 on Tuesday, off season on 26/9, and couldn't find an empty space. We had to drive farther up the street and leave the car in front of someone's apartment block, hoping it wouldn't be towed or fined.

The internet never worked, and although we asked for the incorrect password to be fixed, nobody replied. Our room was noisy, with people talking from several directions, and it wasn't clean enough: there was a stain on the pillow and mold on the window curtain. The electric kettle had water in it, and we had no idea how long it had been sitting there. Breakfast was very limited, with no fruit or yogurt. The hotel seemed to be run by a person with autism and a disability. We would have been okay with a phone number and entry code system, but we were never given the code and had to stand in the rain to make an international long-distance call for instructions to get inside.

The room looked nowhere near as nice as the pictures. In the morning, light came in early because the curtains didn't cover the full window, and we could hear noise and alarms from other rooms through the thin walls. The bathroom was nice and the shower was good. Breakfast was really tasty.

There was plenty of room to settle in, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet, so we could rest without being disturbed. They also had several heating options, a TV, and a wardrobe. The cleaning service was nice, and reception stayed open until 22h. Good hotel, with nice service.
