The €65 electricity bill for four days was the last straw for us. We were away at least five hours daily and heated only with the wood stove, yet when I questioned the amount, I was told we must have used a lot of heat. We paid, but we won't return. At home, we spend about €180 for a whole month, including hot water and air conditioning; at that rate this place would cost €500 monthly. The stove was nearly useless for cooking. It took over 20 minutes just to heat water for pasta, so we ate out most days. The microwave didn't work as a grill or oven when we tried it, and there wasn't even an oven for baking rolls. The air conditioners do heat, but blow straight at the bed and gave us earaches, so we switched them off after the second night. The bathroom had a fan heater that we chose to leave off. We rented both units. The furnishings were generally fine for us, but there wasn't a proper spatula, despite being told the basics were provided before arrival. The listing called the home “luxurious,” which we couldn't see at all; to us it was a standard holiday home, like 80 others. We paid €9 for bed linens, couldn't bring our own, and had to make the beds and strip them ourselves. Maybe we were wrong to expect a certain standard, but this was by far the worst holiday home we've stayed in at the Frankenau holiday park.
