The complex is well placed, and all the sights are easy to reach by car or bike 💪. The staff at the small shop were friendly, and ordering bread rolls worked well. There are plenty of other houses to rent here, which is just as well, because House No. 139 was a letdown. The living room tabletops were so warped that cups and glasses wouldn't sit properly, and we had to wash some of the dishes thoroughly before using them. Inside, the oven/microwave was dirty, cigarette butts were in the uncleaned fireplace, and the windowpanes were sticky inside and extremely dirty outside. There was hair in the drawers, cobwebs around the house, a clogged shower drain, and large yellow-brown stains on the bedspread. Outside was badly neglected too, with a dirty grill grate and cigarette butts in the grill. Disgusting.

These are nice houses in the woods up on the mountain, right beside the nature reserve. It's a good base for hikes and outings nearby. But there's no pool, restaurant, or childcare. Everything has gone bankrupt and closed.

A little basic, but everything was really nice and easygoing. We had a short “hideaway” and a fantastic bike ride to Lake Edersee. Such a lovely way to slow down, we'll be back!
