There are plenty of hiking options around this lovely holiday complex. The apartments and houses have different furnishings, since they belong to different owners.

The village is charming and fairly small, close to Lake Edersee. It's also a lovely area for hiking, right by the Kellerwald forest.
We came for a week but left on Thursday instead of Saturday because the construction site across from the cottage was so disruptive. We noticed it when we arrived Saturday, and from Monday onward heavy machinery started up at 7:15 every morning. The landlord said they hadn't known about the work and wouldn't refund or compensate us for the days we didn't stay. The manager was very friendly and helped fix the thermostat, which a previous tenant had messed up, so the cottage had been stuck at 16 degrees. The park itself looked neglected too, with every trash collection point overflowing. The surrounding area was beautiful, though, and we enjoyed walks and visits to nice places nearby.
The quiet, the natural surroundings, and the clean air keep bringing us back. Our house "Bienvenue" in Frankenau is also available to rent!
We were welcomed warmly, and the cottage was clean and tidy. The surrounding nature and old villages were lovely to explore.
