The bed and interior were nice, but there was no safe, so I was cautious with my things. My room was on the 6th floor, while the tiny, slightly creepy elevator only went to the 5th. The staircase was very narrow too, which made getting around with a few suitcases awkward. The window was almost impossible to close and took real force. When I first arrived, the hall smelled sweaty, and I was lucky the keeper checked me in. Otherwise, the keys are apparently left in a mailbox outside the building, which I'd never seen before. I was there five days and didn't see anyone at reception again after check-in. The room was a bit dirty, and the walls weren't well maintained. It looked like little was being invested in cleaning or renovating the rooms and bathrooms. The cleaner also took my towel, which wasn't cool. The bathroom light only came on with the loud ventilation, and I could hear the neighbors and almost everything else happening in the building.

It's conveniently close to the city center, but the room was very basic. There wasn't any water, shampoo, or even soap. I'm not expecting luxury, but those are essentials. There's room to improve.

Hotel Mondial Comfort is in a good spot, with supermarkets and plenty of restaurants nearby. It's quieter than the train station area, so I slept peacefully, and the subway is just a two-minute walk away for trips to the city center. There isn't front desk staff on site, which could be inconvenient if something urgent comes up. For other needs, WhatsApp worked easily and the hotel responded. The decor felt like the 1990s and was dated, but the price was affordable enough for me. The room was roomy and had a spacious balcony, a big plus. Apart from some noticeable carpet stains, it was generally well maintained. It's good value, and I'd stay here again next time I'm in Frankfurt.

The free parking behind the hotel was the one good thing. There was nobody at reception, and the lobby coffee machine was broken. The kettle was so old and dirty that making coffee with it seemed impossible.

We had a very spacious room, and the hotel actively responded to our requests. They also provided a free bassinet for the kids. Parking costs nothing, but there are only 5-6 spots in the back and they aren't always available, so arrive early if you want one. It's a good place for a night, and the city is walkable from there. The apartment area around the hotel felt safe.
