Hotel Villa Oriental & Restaurant

I wouldn't stay here again. Getting to Frankfurt main station takes only about five minutes on foot, which was the one real upside, and even the homeless man by the entrance was kinder than the staff, greeting us each morning. Inside, though, our room was dirty, the air conditioning didn't work, there was mold in the fridge and pests in the room. The window was broken, there were no towels when we arrived, and noise came straight through the walls and doors. The desk was barely usable, with hardly any workspace. I slept under four hours a night in the stuffy room. After I raised the problems politely twice, nobody acted. When I asked for compensation for two nights without sleep, the response was disrespectful and made it clear they weren't concerned about guests' well-being. Those were three awful days.

For the price, it worked fine for a short stay. We were two women walking to the hotel at night, and although the neighborhood looked a little sketchy, we didn't feel unsafe. The room was cleaner and nicer than we'd expected after reading the reviews. There were stains on the wall and floor, but the bed, bathroom, and table were clean. It's not the best hotel around, but it's decent value.

We paid a very good price for a decent place to stay. The room had lovely decor, a pleasant bathroom, and a really comfortable bed, though it could use a thorough clean and a few small repairs. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the reception area was clean and smelled lovely. There's no parking at the hotel. The secure garage across the road costs €33 for 24 hours.

The room was very warm, which mattered most to me, and I even had to open the window at night. Some people had said their rooms were cold. The toilet was perfect, and there is a train just outside the hotel; a bus about 100 meters away goes to Frankfurt main Airport and Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. At reception, the staff member was helpful and assisted us with filling out the paperwork while giving us the cards. The room looked good, though it has its own style. The carpetless floor made it feel as if I were always walking into a toilet, and one side of the double bed squeaked quite a bit. The card reader was odd and took me a while to open the room each time. There was also a battery-powered safe that didn't work. I don't understand some of the comments saying the rooms were really bad.
