Gasthof Rennsteighütte

We felt right at home and will definitely return. The whole team was in great spirits, and the food was excellent from breakfast through dinner. The owner was lovely, funny, and accommodating. If you're into hiking, cycling, or exploring the Rennsteig trail, this is a great place to stay. Thanks, Thomas.

The homemade salads and Rostbrätel (grilled pork) are fantastic, and there's always a good range of drinks. Thomas is a warm, attentive host who has helpful suggestions for outings, celebrations, and meals. You can also order food from him for events, and that works perfectly. The Rennsteighütte Frauenwald is welcoming, with an atmosphere that makes you feel at home straight away. I enjoy coming here and will gladly be back. Genuine hospitality, good food, and a lovely atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend the Rennsteighütte.

It's hard to choose among all the possibilities around here, and sometimes I'd rather just sit in the sun in front of the house. The place is in Frauenwald on the Rennsteig trail, surrounded by the beauty of the Thuringian Forest, and near the university town of Ilmenau. There's a charming pub, a bowling alley, and lots of quaint rooms, plus a truly welcoming landlord. Greetings to the landlord, who also...

There were 14 of us on this trip, and on arrival day we had an excellent grill dinner after ordering ahead. We could use the property's own bowling alley and bring our own food and drinks. Our hosts and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a pleasant stay.
