The neighborhood was wonderfully quiet, with private houses all around, and Fredersdorf S-bahn station is about a 20-minute walk away. S5 trains run to the city center every 15-20 minutes. Berlin center is roughly an hour away by car, with the hotel next to road #10. Fredersdorf center has a Shell fuel station and a few food chain shops. We didn't try the hotel's pool. Breakfast was simple but good quality and tasty. Everything was clean and in solid condition. The rooms, corridors, restaurant and reception aren't especially new or modern, but they're well kept, and the window shutters block the sunlight. It's a calm, pleasant place to stay and our favorite for now, though I wouldn't call it a four-star hotel. There was no AC in the rooms, just an electric table ventilator offered by the hotel. The wooden doors in both our rooms scraped the floor or didn't close properly, and they let noise through. Parking was quite narrow, which made it tricky at times with our family minivan. The shower temperature kept shifting between hot and cold, maybe because of the regulator or the pipes. There was also a slight moldy, damp smell in the bathroom, along with a few small water bugs.

The restaurant menu was pretty boring, and the wooden doors let in a lot of noise. Everything felt low quality. It was very hot, with no ventilator available. I don't think this deserves a four-star rating.

The room was simple and clean, and I really liked the breakfast. The girls at reception were nice and helpful :)
