Das Viertel

It’s easy to wake up here if you’re a light sleeper, since sounds from outside carry through the wooden construction and rooms. They do provide earplugs for everyone, which helped me. Still, I loved this hostel and would give it 10 stars. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, including when I needed help during my stay. It’s in the city centre, close to everything and public transport. I liked the simple, cute and cozy room design, which felt family- and kid-friendly. Towels and lockers are provided, and the shared toilets and showers were very clean. Many thanks to the staff.

As a solo woman traveler, I felt safe and lucky to find such a warm spot. This was probably the highlight of my time in Freiburg, and one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. I came across das Viertel Freiburg through a friend’s recommendation while already in town, and I’m glad I did. It’s right in the heart of the city but tucked into a quiet, peaceful spot. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. It felt more like being with good friends than staying at a hostel, and they’re open to feedback and clearly want guests to be comfortable. My two-bed dorm was small, but very clean and thoughtfully set up. The air felt good, and the bed, soft bedding and pillow were super comfortable. I felt at home almost too quickly. I’ve never seen a hostel quite like this one. It’s beautifully made, and you can feel the care and attention to detail. Thanks for a wonderful stay, I’ll definitely be back. Clara

Loved Freiburg, it’s such a cool city. Christ Church Freiburg is a good Sunday morning stop, just a short walk away. The place itself has a great concept and decor, a convenient location, and very clean bathrooms. Checking out at 10:00 on Sunday morning was easy.

Really warm and cozy, with cute, unusual decorations and design. Everything was good, clean and organized, and it had the essentials you might need.
