The hotel feels very old school, especially the dark wood pub-style bar, while the rooms are more modern. I liked that mix. Its spot by the train station and lakefront is great, and the breakfast room off the bar had plenty of tables. Breakfast had a good spread of hot food, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, and cereal. Our twin room was spacious, with a good-sized wardrobe. The bathroom had a tub with a shower attachment, though I struggled with the controls to get hot water at decent pressure. That could have been me. The mugs were quite small, and larger ones weren’t available. The room got pretty hot; there was AC, but it could be noisy if you’re sensitive to that. Before the stay, I emailed a question and got a quick, helpful reply. The staff were professional and friendly.

We had a really pleasant stay here. The hotel is quiet and beautiful, right by Lake Constance and an easy walk from Kornmarktplatz and the city center. The beds were comfortable, the pillows soft, and the blackout blinds and fridge were handy. Staff were kind and attentive, and the nearby REWE (BILLA) was useful for picking up snacks. Highly recommended!

The staff were the best part for me. They’re a young, friendly team who seem to speak all languages, and they made us feel at home. I wanted to stay longer, but they were fully booked, so I’ll be back. Our room was much larger and more luxurious than I expected, with everything we needed, including a fridge and USB charging points. The hotel is well placed for getting around town and reaching the lake. Breakfast was the best we had on our few weeks travelling around southern Europe. There are also individual lockable garages for guests. One of the best places I’ve stayed in a long time.

The service stood out most. The staff welcomed us when we arrived at 3AM and were helpful and patient. You’re right by the lake, so the location is hard to beat. The hotel dates from the 15th century and has its own look, which may or may not suit you. The rooms honestly have what you need if you’re just after a place to sleep.

I had a great stay while visiting Friedrichshafen this past week. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were large and very clean. It’s an easy walk to both the train station and the town center. Great location, and I’d highly recommend the hotel.
