We picked this place because it was away from the usual busy spots, and we were glad we did. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had modern amenities. Wi-Fi was excellent, and the price reasonable. Breakfast was great, with a good selection, and they catered for a gluten-free diet. Service was excellent. In the evening, the restaurant had plenty of choice at reasonable prices, and, most importantly, the food was delicious.

Booked on the spur of the moment for an exhibition I had to attend, and I honestly didn’t expect much. The check-in setup was thoroughly modern and digital, and the service team were incredibly friendly. The restaurant food was excellent, but be sure to reserve a table because they fill up. Breakfast was included in the room price and was amazing, with a wide choice. You can have eggs made however you like, scrambled, boiled, whatever you choose. Highly recommended, and I’d go back anytime ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

A pretty guesthouse sits on a hill overlooking the lake. The restaurant serves good traditional German food, and the price feels fair for both the quality and the portions. It’s often full, so it’s a good idea to reserve.

We arrived a little after 5 p.m. on one of the hottest days in July and found an empty car park and a cool biergarten under six old chestnut trees. We ordered quickly, and the food and drinks came promptly. The staff were friendly and attentive. An hour and a half later, the place was packed, with at least 48 guests by our count and more still arriving. Families with little kids and couples with well-behaved dogs are welcome. The daily menu had lots of vegetarian choices, including homemade "Spätzle" noodles. I wasn’t keen on the side salad: it had some chopped "Eisbergsalat" (head lettuce), and I prefer a deep green, colourful mix of different leaf lettuces. It was also a bit too vinegary for my taste. My medium steak came lightly bloody, just as I’d ordered it, and the other guests were smiling and friendly. Check the kitchen hours. Outside those times, cold meals and drinks are available, along with a breathtaking view. Parking is tight, and there’s a sign just inside the door that explains the issue and offers helpful suggestions. Bring your bike and reward yourself with a Radler! This feels like one of those local secrets. I’d suggest arriving early or booking ahead, especially for a group of more than four.
