River Boating Holidays

The facilities are clean and well maintained, and Conny and Bernd are very friendly and provide top service.

The wheelhouse quickly became our favorite spot, with its full 360-degree view and protection from the weather. In the evenings we could sit there outside for ages. Even when it was cold and windy, we were comfortable in sweaters while others had scarves and hats. When it warmed up, the wheelhouse opened almost all the way, so there was plenty of ventilation and no heat buildup. The auxiliary heater also makes this boat well suited to the shoulder seasons. We spent two weeks cruising on a riverboat in September 2025, just the two of us. It was very comfortable for two people and still easy to maneuver, especially in locks and harbors. The rental team were friendly and patient during handover and instruction. As a first-timer, I even got to take a short test drive. The boat was in excellent condition even toward the end of the season, and its equipment was extensive and well thought out. Five stars and an unqualified recommendation.

The Havel River turned out to be gorgeous, especially if you love nature. We'd been traveling in a rented campervan for the past few years and wanted to try something different. By boat, we got to wild camp in beautiful spots surrounded by nature, something that's hard to do in a campervan these days. Even going through the locks gave us an adrenaline rush. We could go on and on, but you should experience it yourselves. At the marina, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we enjoyed just being there. We felt on the same wavelength with the team right from the start, and the process was so easy. Sandra, the arrival was already cheeky 😂 🤗. After Sandra (phew) 😂, Thomas gave us a perfect, reassuring briefing on the Riverboat 1122. Bianca took the helm as captain. Peter, who I think is the company owner, also stopped by for a casual chat. Peter, I hope the MaLa is there when we come back 😃. Sandra, Peter, Thomas, and everyone else, thanks for the wonderful time. Five stars are more than deserved. Peter, keep the MaLa clean for me! 😂

The boat was in excellent condition, and the interior was high quality, right down to the kitchen equipment. The three of us had a fantastic time, and we're sure we'll be back. It was the first houseboat trip for my wife, our dog, and me. We were thrilled with River Boating and are certain it won't be our last vacation with them. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, and the short briefing about the Riverboat 1122 was perfectly adequate. The team quickly answered any other questions. We loved our time on the Havel River and the surrounding lakes, despite heavy rain showers during the first three days. Because of the rain, we spent more time in Himmelpfort than planned.
