Gasthof-Pension Kerber

The rooms are spacious and clean, and everything worked fine during our stay. It’s an excellent family pension in Fürstenstein, with very helpful, friendly staff. If you ask, there’s a lockable garage for bikes or motorbikes. Paying by debit or credit card was no problem, which isn’t so common in Germany.

I like celebrating New Year’s Eve here. The hotel is run by generations of Bavarians, with pleasant accommodation and tasty food. Even having no Internet wouldn’t stop me staying here.

We were disappointed when the room cost €75 at checkout, even though we’d called ahead and been quoted €70 for one night. It wasn’t a huge difference, but that wasn’t the price agreed over the phone, and there was no flexibility when we brought it up. The cozy Gasthaus has friendly staff and a great kitchen, and I recommend trying the Münchner schnitzel. On the second floor there are two awkward relics from a certain period in German history. They may shock you a bit.

We stayed one night while passing through. The room was large and very clean, and there’s a really good restaurant downstairs. We’ll definitely come back.
