aja Garmisch-Partenkirchen

I live locally and can wholeheartedly recommend the AJA Hotel. When our house heating failed, they let us use the spa showers for a small fee. Not many hotels offer that kind of help these days. The staff are always keen to help visitors and locals alike, and the location is great. If you're coming to Garmisch, the AJA Hotel has lovely people who are ready to help.

The location made getting around easy, with the city and train station nearby and the Zugspitzbahn just around the corner. We also found the spa relaxing, though the outdoor pool and hot tub could have been warmer. The garage parking was on the pricey side. Inside, everything was spotless, the food was excellent, and the staff were welcoming, especially Laura. We had a great stay and will definitely be back.

We lasted less than an hour in the spa and Wellness. Families with small kids were playing with water balls throughout the pools and sauna area, jumping into both the indoor and outdoor pools and the jacuzzi. It felt like a joke, and the whole thing was stressful and disappointing. It was Valentine's Day, and we had hoped to enjoy romantic treatments, as reception suggested, but couldn't.

Getting to the train station and Zugspitzbahn took only about three minutes on foot, which made our trips and hikes much easier to plan. The spa and pool area exceeded what we expected, and the pool and one sauna are suitable for families. Everyone we met at reception during our three-day visit was friendly and accommodating. The man who checked us in was especially welcoming and explained everything we needed. The staff were great even though my German isn't perfect. One of the best hotels I've stayed in.
