The apartment is tucked right beside the forest, in a very quiet spot. It’s also a great base for hiking, while the town center is only a short walk downhill. Inside, it’s spacious and comfortable, with everything needed for a holiday and a fantastic view over Gerolstein. The hostess was attentive and very helpful.

The apartment was freezing. We tried turning on the heating, but it didn’t get warm, and we were immediately accused of not using it and told it cost too much. Are guests supposed to just freeze? On the second day, the landlady entered our apartment with strangers while we were away, without arranging it with us beforehand. Absolutely unacceptable.

Our holiday was spoilt from the start. The landlady greeted us in a terrible mood and immediately scolded us for bringing our bicycles. The apartment felt dated, and some of the flooring was damaged. The bathtub had no plug, so we could only use it as a shower. The landlady said taking a bath would use too much energy. We had booked three bedrooms, but were given only two because she considered that enough for three people.
