The area around Gerolstein is lovely for hiking and exploring, with trails that offer beautiful views and a real sense of peace. Waldferienpark Gerolstein itself is surrounded by nature and was a calm place to stay. I spent a work weekend there and had a wonderful time. The owner provided outstanding service, everything was well organized, and the friendly welcome made us feel at home. It was a perfect blend of relaxing and getting outdoors. I’d highly recommend Waldferienpark Gerolstein for a comfortable stay in a beautiful natural setting.

We spent two nights at this lovely campsite and had the tent area to ourselves, so it was peaceful. The toilets, showers and bar had everything we needed. It’s also a great starting point for hiking in Vulkaneifel.

Our pitch was unlucky: it was right beside the main rubbish bin and had no view. The campsite is under construction and, in general, it’s a poor one. The toilets were clean and quiet, but you have to pay for the shower, which is a big downside for me, as is the Wi-Fi. Service felt poor and unfriendly, like the staff were stressed. We tried to order takeaway, which was supposed to be possible, but couldn’t because the restaurant was crowded and dine-in guests were given priority. We were guests too, but ended up with no food because the restaurant was overbooked. That’s why I gave it two stars.

The bungalow had everything we needed, and fresh bread was available in the morning through reception. The restaurant food could be better. The location is perfect for a stay in the Vulkaneifel.

We used the spot as our base for mountain biking, and it had all the conveniences we needed. The view was wonderful, and the owners were very kind. The food was good too.
