Holiday home Malte matches the photos and was clean and tidy. Mrs. Domröse was friendly and easy to deal with. Shops, restaurants, and everything else we needed were just a short distance away. I don’t understand the negative comments and would gladly return anytime. 👍

We had some lovely sunny days in August on Rügen, and the location was convenient, with Netto next door and the beach less than a 10-minute walk away. The house looked attractive and modern when we arrived, with a heat pump, but the longer we stayed, the more problems we found. It felt as though it hadn’t been maintained for years. The rental service had confused us beforehand with conflicting instructions about visitor’s tax cards, payment, the spare key, and checkout. All the built-in insect screens were torn or broken, and door handles kept coming off. The bathtub faucet and sink drain were broken too, though those were fixed two days after I called. Other issues remained: the kitchen faucet was completely loose, the refrigerator barely cooled, the reading lamps and upstairs hall lights didn’t work, the toilet seat was loose, and the window locks were faulty. There was an active wasp nest inside the living room roller shutter box. The white walls were covered with stains from squashed insects. The waterbed was unstable and took some getting used to, and the computer in the children’s playroom looked about 20 years old. TV reception came through an analog SCART adapter. Younger people can Google what SCART is. We’re not usually fussy, but at over €2000 a week, this was too many small problems. Without them, it could have been a top-notch holiday home. We won’t return until they’re resolved. Still, we enjoyed those sunny August days here on Rügen. Greetings from Thuringia!
