The treatments were a real standout. Marie Mond gave me an excellent facial, and took the time to explain small changes I could make to my skincare routine for better results. I was so grateful for that level of care, and still am. I’m already looking forward to returning. Earlier, Maisam, the Gus Master, gave a sensational Gus. The music, scents, and movements came together beautifully, making it one of the most memorable Gus experiences I’ve had. He even helped me track down some of the songs he played. We had a fantastic weekend at Alter Meierhof, and everything exceeded our expectations.

The spa treatments were high quality and very relaxing, and the place was calm and quiet, which made it easy to unwind. The restaurant had a lovely view and good food and drinks. Rooms were clean, spacious, and felt fresh. I also liked the four saunas, especially the playful snowflake sauna. Some parts of the hotel and spa are still being renovated, with visible construction in places. There were exposed cables in the spa, and the restaurant felt quite cold because the windows hadn’t been sealed yet. The beds were very firm, and the pillows could have offered more support. There’s just one pool, partly indoors and partly outdoors, so it was cooler than I expected, though not cold. The sauna requires nudity, which was unfamiliar to us as international guests. A brief explanation at check-in would make that easier. The hamam also involved close personal contact and nudity, which was outside our comfort zone, but we got through it thanks to the kind, professional spa staff.

I planned the trip for my wife's birthday and was really disappointed with the host. There wasn’t even a welcome drink. We checked in at 3:00, but didn’t get a room until 4:30 because the first one overlooked the parking lot. The woman at reception was really unkind.

We came to celebrate my birthday, but left disappointed. The first room looked onto the parking lot. The receptionist was really unfriendly, and although there were lots of guests, she was on her own with a new intern.

The restaurant Meierei Dirk Luther, awarded a Michelin star, served gourmet food that was both delicious and healthy. The pool and spa treatments for body and face were another major plus, and the natural surroundings along the Flensburg Fjord were beautiful. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, where the staff did everything to make us feel special. Their professional, friendly, cheerful service and facilities were at a level we haven’t found at many other resorts. A special start to our Northern Europe holiday, and a 5+ star rating from us.
