We had a lovely view over the park from our clean, roomy space, and breakfast was tasty and filling. The owner at reception let us check in a little early since our room was already ready, which we really appreciated. We were on what I think was the third floor, and there’s no lift, so anyone with mobility issues may want to ask about a lower room ahead of time. We’d happily stay again if we return to Gorlitz.

The management kindly let us move our booking dates at no extra charge when we couldn’t travel as planned. Staff were friendly, parking nearby was free, and the room and bathroom had everything we needed. The buffet breakfast was decent too. The pillows were very uncomfortable and should be replaced, and the TV only had German channels.

The complimentary breakfast is the reason I’m giving this place two stars. The hotel sits beside a busy road, so it can be loud, and the rooms are small, sparsely furnished, and separated by very thin walls. I also felt uneasy about the part of town, and having to lock my own room and unlock the front door to enter the hotel didn’t help. The Wi-Fi was weak and unreliable. I’d look for another hotel in Görlitz.

The food had no taste and there wasn’t any choice. There were spiders in the room too, and I can upload a video of them. I had a cold and asked for hot water in the evening, but it cost 1 euro. Coffee was also from 1 euro. I’ve never been charged for coffee or hot water where I’ve stayed before. Horror!!!
