A pleasant place to stay in a park by the old town. The tower itself is hard to miss, as it forms part of the city wall. Built in 1517, it stands 20 meters high, with walls six meters thick, and contains a museum as well as several holiday homes.

My family went to the night tour. It was in German, so we could only understand a little, but the kids had fun playing with the costumes.

It’s a pretty church, though it seems odd to build a replica of a Norwegian stave church in Harzen.

Beautiful, and the explanations about the tower itself were really good.
