The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, and the town center was about a ten-minute walk away. The house by the carp pond sits right beside the spa park, where you can walk your dog. There’s also a fenced dog run about 100 meters away. The building is showing its age and could use some care. Guests with dogs seem to get the less desirable rooms. Ours was clean, but the bathroom was old and very small, with no electrical outlets.

The rooms are newly renovated and spotlessly clean. With the spa park and its playground right across the street, it’s ideal for children. Our hostess, Elisabeth, was wonderful, attentive, and friendly, and fulfilled almost every wish. Such a lovely place. Thank you, and hopefully we’ll see you again soon.

We only needed a bed for one night during Walpurgis Night, and the location beside the spa park was fantastic. The village was well maintained, though it felt a little like a ghost town, perhaps because it wasn’t peak season. We found street parking not too far away after arriving early, since the hotel has no parking of its own, though there were other options. At 3 pm we went to check in before heading back to the festival. The door was open, but nobody was in the breakfast room, and no one answered the bell. Other guests eventually pointed us to the owner behind the building. We got our room, but having to search around for staff at the stated check-in time was ridiculous. Guests shouldn’t have to look through the hotel for someone; even the cheapest campsites manage to have someone there. The room was clean and bright, with simple furnishings, and the dated bathroom was clean too. The bed was okay for one night, but staying longer would have been too much hassle. We paid right away, which was fine. We were told breakfast ran from 8 to 10 and that we could check out then. We’re early risers and planned to move on, so we were in the breakfast room at 8. Again, nobody was around. There was just a tray of rolls, no buffet or anything like that, though we could help ourselves. We left rather than search for someone and wait again. We understand that low occupancy doesn’t justify having someone standing by all day, but some service is part of booking a hotel on vacation. There’s a lot of potential here, but we wouldn’t return because of this.

We booked two double rooms for four people, and the rooms were clean and newly renovated. The hotel is in a fantastic spot just behind the spa gardens. The friendly owner welcomed us with a wonderful breakfast and gave us excursion tips and restaurant recommendations, which we really appreciated. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll be back!
