The price and quality are fair, but the hotel is very basic and could use some renovation. The bar was closed as well, so there wasn't much to do in the evening.

The building and location were nice, and they make good liquor. That was about the best of it for me. We booked a beautiful, spacious room with red details and a double bed for a special occasion, based on the photos. What we got was a tiny hostel-like room, with a very small bathroom and two mattresses pushed together. I've stayed in hostels that looked much better. It felt like the hotel's cheapest budget room, and the sound insulation was terrible. Another guest was snoring like a tractor at night, so we couldn't sleep and were exhausted the next day. They could at least offer earplugs if noise is a problem. Breakfast was okay, but there were no vegan options, so we had bread and coffee or juice. At €117 per night, that was disappointing. I was so excited to stay here, but I won't return or recommend it to friends.

The receptionist was helpful enough to let us view the next room before checking in, and cancel when we decided it wasn't suitable. It was even smaller, with the washroom in a separate room outside, but the washbasin inside, which was extremely weird. The room we had, marked with the prefix Krug, was in a separate building outside the main hotel. It was pathetically small and had no WiFi, in 2024. When we called reception, we were told to ask the downstairs restaurant for WiFi. They sent us back to reception, saying there was a problem. We paid 130 euros for this horror show. The floor creaked, and we couldn't rest before 11 pm because of the restaurant staff walking downstairs. We couldn't sleep, then had to wake up in time for breakfast. The hotel needs to describe these rooms accurately. This isn't acceptable.

Breakfast was amazing, including their own honeycomb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The monastery is beautiful, with a grand staircase and hallway, and the rooms are large with comfortable beds. There are some nice walks nearby. The WiFi was poor, hallway sounds came through loudly, and our shower cabin had a small leak. I'd recommend staying here if those things don't bother you too much.
