The food was good, but that doesn’t make up for the way I was treated. On my work trip, my client paid a premium for my stay at Hotel Scheubel, yet I got cold stares and dismissive service from almost everyone. As a brown-skinned professional, I felt clearly unwelcome. It seemed like guests who aren’t blond-haired and blue-eyed are treated as second-class, regardless of what they pay. This attitude felt 80 years out of place, but it’s here in 2025, in a supposedly globalised society. I expected professionalism and equal treatment. I strongly urge travelers of color, immigrants, and anyone who values dignity and equality to stay elsewhere.

The evening meal was delicious, and the service was great. I was here for one night on a business trip. My room was clean and well maintained, and breakfast had a good range of quality food. I’d happily come back.

The food was excellent, and the beers were even better. My room wasn’t huge, but it was clean and comfortable. Everything inside the hotel was clean, too, and the staff were pleasant. It’s just a couple of minutes from the motorway, yet far enough away that traffic noise wasn’t a problem. There’s plenty of parking.

We called an hour before arriving as last-minute guests, and luckily they had a free room. The staff were super friendly, and we could have breakfast with our dog. The room was clean and comfortable.
