The Baltic Sea is around a 20-30 minute walk away, or under 10 minutes by bike, and you can borrow bicycles for free. For families with young kids, the apartment is spacious enough for two children and adults. The courtyard has plenty for them to do, including football space, a treehouse, swings, and a trampoline. Furnishings are simple but do the job, and everything was clean. Bed linen and towels are provided, and there’s a washing machine you can use for a fee.

Such a lovely place, especially if you’ve got kids. I’d definitely recommend it.

There’s plenty for children to enjoy on the farm, from rabbits, chickens, cows, and a treehouse to a sandbox, slide, go-karts, trampoline, swing, and seesaw. Nearby, there are riding stables, a strawberry farm, and a zoo. The host family made us feel very welcome, and the beach is close by and easy to reach by bike. Our apartment worked well for four and had what we needed, though a few more pans and proper cutting boards and knives would have helped. Some things are dated, but everything works and the place has a charming feel. We also enjoyed eating outside on the terrace. A washing machine is available for a fee. We highly recommend Hof Faasel.

The owners and their whole family really look after you, and the value for money is excellent. It’s a lovely farm for kids: everything is childproofed, there are plenty of buggies, and you can feed the chickens or see horses and cows right outside. Six stars if I could!
