Eichenhof Hotel Garni

We chose this place so the kids could spend time with the farm animals, feed them, collect eggs, and enjoy the farm. Instead, the owners wouldn’t let them do any of that, and even got annoyed when the kids tried to pet their dog. The barn and outdoor horse area had signs saying not to enter, touch, or feed the animals. Horse riding was called off for the whole day because it had rained in the morning, and the swing and sandbox looked badly worn and unsafe. It was a huge letdown for us, especially the kids. We owe them a farm stay where they can actually interact with animals, because that wasn’t possible here. We won’t be back. The hotel itself was okay. We’d booked a large family room for two kids, but had to pay an extra €19 per night for another bed. The room was clean, and the attached bathroom was a bit old-fashioned but worked fine. Breakfast was all right if you’re happy with supermarket rolls instead of fresh ones. Check-in ends at 6 pm, and the time is strictly enforced. Missing it was treated as a major problem. In our view, running a hotel with that attitude is the wrong business for the owner.

We got good service and really enjoyed how private it felt.

We had free parking in the courtyard and enjoyed a delicious, generous breakfast each morning. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the owners were very friendly. We spent seven days at Eichenhof and had a wonderful holiday. We’d gladly return.

The hosts were so friendly, and the clean rooms were comfortably furnished. It was a great stay in a very quiet spot.
