Seehotel Heidehof

It was quiet by the lake, and I imagine the surroundings are beautiful in spring, summer, and autumn. The price was good, and my room was spacious and clean. It was a little old-fashioned and basic throughout. The bed was soft, which isn't my preference, but I slept very well anyway.

The hotel's location right at the lake is beautiful, and during my three-night summer stay in August 2019 for a friend's wedding reception, I enjoyed the friendly, helpful staff and delicious food served well. The hotel is old, with a modest appearance and equipment, but that was good enough for the party. There was also a place outside for a BBQ and bonfire. The serious problem came afterward. I had an unpleasant situation during my stay that needed to be discussed, clarified, and resolved elegantly. I called many times over the three weeks after leaving, but couldn't reach the hotel's manager, and they never got back to me. After three weeks, though, the hotel's HOUSEKEEPER called to discuss my bad experience. I was very disappointed by the poor service in handling difficulties. The manager not making time to clarify things with me felt unpleasant and unprofessional. One smaller but annoying issue: each device needs its own special WiFi login name and separate password, which aren't easy to remember. A couple arriving with personal and work phones plus laptops can easily end up in a mess. The hotel needs an easier solution.

Really nice spot by the lake, and the breakfast is excellent. The rooms are good too, though they could maybe use a bit of refreshing.

A perfect stay for riding the Mecklenburger Seen Runde. They served breakfast from 3 in the modning before the ride, and let us keep our bikes in the rooms. Great place.
