We paid 62 euros for the cheapest room, and it felt like a good deal. Breakfast was simple, tasty, and filling at 9 euros, with several food options offered. The old building carries footsteps and doors opening and closing, but there were hardly any other visitors besides us, so it stayed very quiet. The hotel is peaceful, about five minutes from the river, with a lovely garden nearby.

Andrea and Peter were lovely, and the setting across from the lake felt calm and relaxing. We got in late, dropped our bags, then went straight to dinner and wine in a place more than 400 years old. The next morning we had breakfast at the same table, looking out over the lake. Such a delightful stay, and we'd happily return if we're in the area again. The facilities aren't like those at a typical 5-star hotel, more like a solid 3+, but the value is absolutely 5-star, maybe even 6-star for what you pay.

We only went to the restaurant, not the hotel. The garden was lovely, and the food was outstanding. I'd never had Matjes that perfect before, and even dessert was excellent.
